Respect: Four Ways To Make People Respect You
Five Reasons Why People Reject You
And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his DREAMS, and for his words.
Joseph was hated and rejected by his brothers because of his dreams. As a matter of fact, that was why they sold him to the midianite merchants (Gen 37:19).
Till today evildoers still criticize, hate, vilify and reject visionary men. One thing your dream will attract is rejection.
People naturally gets afraid of men of purpose and vision. It was because of the dream Joseph shared with his family that made them to reject him.
If Joseph was like his brothers who had no dream, they would have accommodated him. So, when people ignore you unjustifiably. It may be because of your dream. Do not back off. Keep your dream and hope alive.
For instance, a father could reject his son because he has a dream of becoming a preacher. The man may totally disown his son because he is pursuing a dream that he doesn’t like.
Wealth maketh many friends; but the POOR IS SEPERATED FROM HIS NEIGHBOUR.
Poverty is unarguably a recipe for rejection. Many people don’t like associating themselves with poor people. It doesn’t matter if that poor person they are rejecting is their blood relation. They will still avoid that poor person.
On the other hand, wealth is like a magnet that attracts all kinds of people to the wealthy person.
Therefore, if people like associating themselves with you. It does not necessarily mean that you are a good person. It may be because of your money which they want to benefit from.
However, do not commit suicide because you are poor. Trust God and align yourself with the principles that secure wealth. And expect God to bless you.
Again, a lady may turn down your proposal because you are poor. Don’t get money in a diabolical means. Work and pray.
Truthfully speaking, you will be rejected and ignored if you are still poor.
Work hard, pray and give to people. And see how people will naturally accept you when God blesses you financially.
For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines ENVIED HIM.
And Abimelech said unto Isaac, GO FROM US; for thou art much mightier than we.
Isaac was asked to leave Gerar because the Philistines envied him. He had become very wealthy. They had to send him away — reject him because of the wealth he had acquired.
Envy is another tool that promotes rejection. Envious people will find every means to ignore you.
Additionally, envious people may not employ you if they see you as someone who will outclass them. They may reject your proposals. They may block your source of income because of envy.
Dear friend, do not be discouraged when men enviously slam you. Rejoice and pray that the Lord should frustrate their evil plans. Keep digging as Isaac kept digging. Keep working. Refuse to be downhearted.
• What You Stand For
John 9:21-22These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, THAT IF ANY MAN DID CONFESS THAT HE WAS CHRIST, HE SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF THE SYNAGOGUE.
But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
Some people have been despised, mocked and unjustifiably ignored because of their belief in Christ Jesus. What you stand for may make people reject you.
You may stand for justice, which is absolutely right. Yet, some people will hate you for that. You may be rejected because you are the only one who accepted Jesus Christ in your family.
Sincerely, the parents of that blind by birth were afraid of testifying about Christ. They knew the Pharisees would put them out of the Synagogue and they didn’t want that to happen. So, they transferred the Pharisees to their son.
Here, we can infer that they were to be rejected because of their faith.
My friend, let’s be tolerant. Do not let us allow religion, belief, prejudices and others divide us.
• Inability Meet Up With Certain Standard
And Gilead’s wife bare him sons; and his wife’s sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not INHERIT in our father’s house; for thou art THE SON OF A STRANGE WOMAN.
Basically, they sent Jephthah away because he could not meet up with the standard that engeders inheritance. To them, only the bona fide sons would inherit the inheritance.
Jephthah did not meet this demand and he was rejected by his people. Also, in some schools, students who could not make certain grades were asked to withdraw.
Also, some people get ignored in the society because they can exhibit societal norms and values. If you are being rejected.
Do not develop hatred towards those who reject you. Love them and prove your haters wrong by living right.
