This article is not written to mock these men of God who had laboured for the spread of the gospel in Nigeria. Rather, it was written to keep of abreast of what happened in the past to reputable men of God who did mighty works for God in Nigeria.

(1) Joseph Babalola

Apostle Babalola

Joseph Ayo Babalola was the first General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church, popularly called CAC in Nigeria. He was credited with healing powers. He died at the age of 55.

Apostle Ayodele Babalola was the founder of Christ Apostolic Church alongside Pastor J.B Akinyele and Pastor D.O. Odubanjo. He raised the dead, healed many sick people and emptied the hospital with his healing power. He was born 25 April 1904 and he died 26 July 1959.

Although he lived shortly but he made a great impact, leaving an indelible mark on the surface of the earth.

(2) Benson Idahosa

According to Wikipedia, Benson Andrew Idahosa, was a Charismatic Pentecostal preacher. He is the founder of Church of God Mission International, Archbishop Benson Idahosa was popularly referred to as the father of Pentecostalism in Nigeria. Benson Andrew Idahosa was the founder of Benson Idahosa University in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.

He was the first preacher to preach on the Radio and Television. He was the first pastor to own a car of his own. He believed in prosperity when other pastors in his days thought it was the love of the world.

He was born 11 September 1938 and he died 12 March 1988. He died at the age of 59.

(3) Moses Orimolade

According to Wikipedia, Moses Orimolade Tunolase is the founder of the first African initiated church, the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim, which was established in 1925.

Moses Orimolade was born approximately in 1879 into royal family of Ayibiri in Ondo State of Nigeria.

God’s hand was on his life even within the womb. He was a true father, a pioneer, and forerunner in the Christian faith. He was one of the most influential men of his time and to the Christian movement in Africa during his era.

He was born in 1879 and died 19 October 1933. He died at the age of 54.
