Four Things You Will Enjoy When You Serve God
Service to God is not synonymous with service to man. There is no believer who serves God acceptably that will not be rewarded.
God is not a man who will own you your dues. He is not a man who will promise you certain things and fail to fulfill His promise. God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19).
Therefore, every act of service you render as unto the Lord guarantees you a reward. Here are the benefits of believers’ service to God;
(1) Divine Protection
And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, WHOM THOU SERVEST CONTINUALLY, ABLE TO DELIVER THEE FROM THE LIONS?
In Babylon, Daniel was a man who prayed three times a day to the God of Israel. However, a decree was published which prohibited everyone from praying to God except to Darius.
Sequel to this, Daniel was thrown inside the Lion’s den as a punishment for being a recalcitrant to King’s decree. They all expected him to die but God sent an angel to protect Daniel in the den.
We all know that lions are carnivorous animals and they can’t see any living organism without consuming it. But there was a man who lived with a lion and he was unharmed.
That is what we stand to gain when we serve God despite all odds. Daniel would always found time to seek the face of God in prayers. And God rewarded him for serving Him.
The God Daniel served protected him. You will enjoy divine protection when you serve Him.
He will make you tread upon snakes and scorpions and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

(2) Exception From Sickness
And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Biblically, those who serve the Lord will be exempted from pestilences that ravage the world. You will not be struck down with any form of sickness or disease. The reward of our service to God is exception from illnesses.
Sadly, many believers give all kinds of excuse when it comes to the idea of serving the Lord. Some will say they are not healthy to serve Him, forgetting that the antidote to sickness is service.
Be ready to serve the Lord at all times. Do not be forced to seek the face of God. Do not be forced to serve the Lord with your resources. Purpose in your heart to do His will and advance His kingdom.
(3) Eternal Reward
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
No matter what you leave behind in order to serve the Lord. You will be rewarded for it in this world and inherit everlasting life.
More so, we have a better place in heaven. Every believer is a sojourner here on earth. We will transit to Heaven someday.
So, heaven awaits us with eternal reward that has been reserved for every Christian who serves the Lord.
In other words, we are to enjoy eternal reward when we serve God with all our hearts while on earth.
2 Chronicles 26:5
AND HE SOUGHT GOD IN the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: AND AS LONG AS HE SOUGHT THE LORD, GOD MADE HIM TO PROSPER.
To prosper means to succeed in one’s endeavor. That means, as long as Uzziah, a sixteeen-year-old king served God by seeking Him, he prospered.
There was no gimmicks about his prosperity and early exploits. The secret behind his exploits is service to God.
Instead of using your strength to chase the mundane things of this world that brings temporary satisfaction. Use your strength to serve Him. You will prosper on earth. You shall be at the cutting edge of your career.
Therefore, let’s all cultivate the habit of seeking God. Nobody should put pressure on you before you can seek Him.
Start spending time in His presence. And start serving Him with your gifts, money, time and skills. Your Pastor cannot repay you. Only God can repay you.
