It is only God’s Word that can sustain you this year. Your Spiritual growth is dependent on your attitude towards His Word. Yes, it is good to read novels because they will help in ameliorating your diction.

Develop the habit of consistently reading and studying the Word. Although, issues that will prevent you from studying the Word may spring up. But you are to show tenacity and consistency in studying the Word.

All you will ever need is encapsulated in the Word of God. So, start studying the Word.

Six Things A Good Christian Should Never Do

(2) Pray

Year 2020

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Pray without ceasing.

We are commanded to pray without ceasing. God expects us to pray all the time. You are not supposed to pray only when things are bad. In this year, learn to pray during good and bad times.

Why do you have to pray ceaselessly? Firstly, it is because Jesus expects us pray without fainting. (Luke 18:1). He expects us to pray without fainting. In prayer, you have the opportunity to tell God your needs. Also, you will be able to spend time in His presence.

Moreover, there are some blessings you will never receive until you pray. Until Isaac prayed for her wife to have a child, Isaac never had a child (Gen 25:21).

If you want to enjoy a splendid year, pray consistently. Be definite about your prayer life. Make prayer your lifestyle.

(3) Worship

Luke 4:6-8

And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7 If you worship me, it will all be yours.”

8 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.”

There is something in connection between wealth and worship. That is why those who seek wealth from the devil will automatically worship him.

Here, the only thing the devil wanted from Jesus was worship. He just wanted Him to bow down and worship him. He promised to give Jesus all the wealth and authority of this world if he would worship him. But Jesus refused and He told him that only God was to be worshipped and serve.

In other words, you may also be tempted to worship the devil in order to enjoy riches of this world. But you are to emphatically reject this offer.

Be determined that you are going to worship the Lord for the rest of your days. Anything that the devil gives you whenever you worship him will never last.

Worship Him with your wealth by using your resources to serve the Lord(Proverbs 3:9). Offer the sacrifice of your lips to God, which refers to Praises unto God.

(4) Serve Him

Exodus 23:25

“So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.”

In the year 2020, be ready to serve the Lord with all you have. Nobody should be forcing you before you go to Church. Serve God with your substance.

Serve Him by giving to the poor. God has promised to bless your food and to prevent you sicknesses and diseases.

However, it is left for you to make the decision to serve the Lord. Begin to make this year your Year of service. It is not enough for you to tag this year, your year of success or wealth.

For you to enjoy God’s blessing that is void of sickness, serve God with all your heart.

This is the year you have to serve God. Always seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness. Do everything to make the Gospel spread throughout the World.

Contribute money for the propagation of the Gospel, sponsor Kingdom advancement projects.

(5) Make Godly Friends

Psalm 1:1

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.

We are commanded to love everyone but we are not commanded to relate with everyone equally. Be mindful of the kind of friends you have this year. Your friends can draw you back in the journey of life. They can make you experience either progression or retrogression.

More so, you do not deserve to have any friend that is not going your direction. Have friends whose visions are in tandem with yours. Your vision should determine the kind of friends that you will have.
