7 Reasons Why You Should Be At Peace With All Men
Without prevarication, the Word of God admonished us that if it is possible for us, we should live at peace with all men.
In other words, God is not opposed to the idea, of believers, living at peace with everyone — believers and unbelievers.
There is a priceless injunction in Romans 12:18 (NIV) which says, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
Therefore, it is on this premise, we shall highlight and explain the reasons why every believer, should live together quite peaceably with all men.
Here are the reasons;
(1) The Kingdom Of God Is Of Peace
For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and PEACE and joy in the Holy Ghost.
The kingdom of God is not about fighting and arguing with men. The kingdom we belong to, is not the kingdom of dispute.
So, when you know where you belong, you know how to behave. The Lord is not pleased to see you getting into dispute with people around you all the time.
There is no portion of the Bible that says, you should get into conflict with people because they are unbelievers. If we keep treating them with sheer malice, how can we win their hearts to Christ?
Therefore, if you truly belong to the kingdom of Christ, peace will be sacrosanct to you. Seek peace not war!
(2) God Wants You To Be Peaceful
Let us therefore follow after the THINGS WHICH MAKE FOR PEACE, and things wherewith one may edify another.
The Lord wants you to follow everything that engenders peace. Recall that He is not a God of disorder (1 Cor 14:33).
His true nature is peace. Do not allow religion, beliefs, political differences etc, cause rancor acrimony between you and His people.
We wrestle not against against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers.
Even if you saw someone in your dream or visions that she is a witch. You shouldn’t have to go there and shout on her. Rather, you have to pray and render such person’s power useless.
Again, I advise you to seek peace with all men, if it is possible.

(3) For Your Prayers Not To Be Hindered
1 Peter 3:7 (KJV)
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; THAT YOUR PRAYERS BE NOT HINDERED.
Honestly, our prayers can be hindered, especially couples. For instance, if married men do not live peaceably with their spouses, their prayers can be hindered.
We are to resolve every issue we have with people before we start offering prayers unto God. Because, we may keep praying and never get results.
No matter your level of anointing; conflict, malice and dispute will deny you of the results you have to get through prayers.
So, if results of our prayers are to come, we must endeavour to be at peace with all men, as much as possible.
(4) Satan Lives And Thrives In The Atmosphere Of Dispute Or War
For God is not a GOD OF DISORDER BUT OF PEACE.
Satan is the author of disorder. And it is in that atmosphere, he thrives and fulfils his evil works.
Many believers have become tools in the hands of the devil, in their bid to impugn the reputation of others viciously, who had offended them in the past.
The devil hijacks these methods from them and they become agents of the devil. So, an atmosphere of quarrel, is an atmosphere where satan thrives.
Be careful! The Lord is the God of peace. Be peaceful and follow everything that makes for peace and godliness.
Notice that, this is why many lives get lost during war.
(5) Peace Is The Fruit Of The Spirit
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, PEACE, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
When a seed grows up, it bears fruits. Therefore, fruit is the proof of growth.
Pratically, the proof that you have grown as a believer is to avoid every matter that brings dispute.
If you are the type who loves to get into conflict with almost everyone you meet, you have not grown. Sincerely, you are not bearing fruits you are supposed to bear as a Christian.
Hence, we are to live at peace with all men because God expects the fruit of peace from us.
(6) It Makes You Suitable To Be Helped
A lot of Christians have ignorantly driven away their destiny helpers because they got into knock-down-drag-out situation with people easily.
Listen, there is nobody that is not useful. It is the mode of our usefulness that varies. Thus, we need to relate to people as Christ would related to men.
During Jesus’ earthly ministry, He was able to relate to children, politicians, sinners and tax collectors. He was not going about fighting physically with everyone who opposed His ministry.
Let this mind be in us, the mind that was in Christ Jesus.
If Joseph had fought and interacted badly with the Cupbearer, he would not have been become the Prime Minister. Joseph was wise enough to help the man solve his problem, while he was even in a trouble he knew nothing about (Gen. 41:9-13).
Speak well to people, pray with them and help the people you can help, so that you can be helped.
(7) To Live Long
For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn from evil and do good; HE MUST SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT.”
One of vital prescriptions for long life is to seek peace. Long life comes to those who seek peace with all men not to those who seek war and battles.
Even the miscreants and louts we deride at times, we need to be at peace with them. Be favourably disposed towards them. Give to them and speak well to them.
Sometimes, you should give to those street delinquents who beg you for money. You can empower them if you have the opportunity and make them live a better life.
The fact that a person smokes and drinks does not mean you should pose yourself as his enemy. You don’t have to keep shouting on him and cursing him.
The priceless instruction of the Scriptures is that you should follow things that make for peace.
If they are not coming to harm you, must you always fight against them? Be peaceful! Be a lover of peace!
