7 Lessons You Should Learn From The Canaanite Woman
Every believer has a lot to learn from the Canaanite woman, who came to Jesus for help; when her daughter was terribly suffering from demon-possession.
Let’s us examine seven basic lessons we can glean from this story.
Text: Matthew 15:21-28.
(1) Do Not Die In Silence
A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, CRYING OUT, ‘’Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession.
The woman whose daughter was possessed by the devil did not keep silent. She refused to die in silence.
Also, she chose to look for the person who was capable to help her and she was helped.
Lamentably, there are many believers today who are being afflicted by the devil, but they refuse to cry out to God in prayer.
The Canaanite woman was not like that. She identified her problem and she sought the Lord for a solution.
Therefore, do not be too civilized to pray to God. Your strength cannot save you. When you are faced with a challenge that bothers you, you need God not your intelligence. Be humble and call upon Him for help.
Let the Lord intervene on your matter, lay everything before Him for Him to miraculously help you.

(2) Keep Praying Until He Answers You
Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, ‘’Send her away, FOR SHE KEEPS CRYING OUT AFTER US.’’
Pray until something happens. Daniel did not stop praying until he received angelic intervention. If he had stopped praying, the angel that was sent to him would have been overpowered by the prince of Persian Kingdom.
But his persistency engenders an answer from the Lord (Dan. 10:13).
Similarly, the Canaanite woman did not stop crying out to Jesus because He did not answer her. She never backed off, but she kept crying out to Him until she was noticed by Jesus’ disciples.
Owning to the foregoing, be resilient and persistent until you get your desired result. The truth is, persistency breaks resistance.
No matter the evil force hindering you, if you are persistent enough, you will break through.

(3) Never Be Swift To Utter A Word Against God
26, He replied, ‘’It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.’’
27,’’Yes, Lord,’’ she said, ‘’but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.’’
Irrespective of the fact that Jesus compared the Canaanite woman to a dog. Yet, she did not flare up or abuse Jesus because of that.
Rather she was more concerned with her daughter’s freedom. This teaches us a lot of lessons.
The present-day Christians speak against God easily whenever they face tribulations of life. Some of them will stop praying if they don’t get answer to their prayers quickly. Beware!
Learn from Job who did not charge God with any wrongdoing, irrespective of the disasters that befell Job.
So, be patient as the Lord is working in your favour.
(4) There Is No Distance In The Spirit Realm
Immediately Jesus prayed for the healing of the daughter of that woman, she was healed. Although the young lady was not there with her mother.
But the Word of God penetrated her body and she became healed because there was no distance in the spirit realm.
Sometimes, it pisses me off, when I see people carrying pictures of the person they want to be prayed for to prayer meetings.
The power of God can hit them anywhere they are without carrying their pictures around. Again, there is no distance in the spirit realm.
(5) Miracle Is Inevitable When Faith Is Active
Matt.15:28Then Jesus answered, ‘’Woman, YOU HAVE GREAT FAITH! Your request has been granted.’’ And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
Miracle is act of God provoked by the unusual faith of men. Miracle is not the same thing as magic.
Whether the people watching the magician has faith or not, the magician will continue to perform his magic.
On the contrary, miracles can only take place effortlessly when the people involved are full of faith.
The woman with the issue of blood got healed because she had faith. Also, the faith of the Canaanite woman birthed her desired miracle.

(6)Faith Can Compel God To Do What He Does Not Want To Do
Initially, Jesus did not want to heal that woman’s daughter, simply because he wasn’t sent to the Canaanites.
Worthy of note is the fact that the woman did not take ‘’NO’’ for an answer over her daughter’s case. Her faith in Jesus made Jesus to do what
He never intended to do. Simply put, your faith in God can make God do unimaginable things in your life.
(7) Be Passionate About The Wellbeing Of Your Children
The only reason why the woman was crying after Jesus was because of her daughter. She was not crying out to Jesus because she wanted to have horses to ride, houses to live or more money.
Although, these things are good but she knew that she would be accountable before God over how he took care of the daughter given to her.
Hence, she was passionate to see her healed.Dear parents, be passionate to see your children doing exploits for Christ. Do not be heartless.
The fact that your child offended you should not make you should disown him/her.
Pray for all your children and raise them in the way of the Lord. Stop pronouncing curses upon them, stop treating them with scant regard and stop maltreating them.
Do not stop crying out to God until His prophecies concerning your children come to pass.
