5 Things That Will Happen When You Pray For Others
John Wesley once said that; “It seems God is limited by our prayers — that He can do nothing for humanity unless someone asks Him.” This statement is quite true. Because it seems God is incapacitated by our prayer.
Intercession is the process of standing in the gap for others. More so, intercessors are the people who stand in the gap between the holy God and sinful humanity.
Ezekiel 22:30-31Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
Believers are not supposed to be selfish in the place of prayers. It is not enough to ask God to meet our needs. We must plead for God’s mercy over sinners. We must take authority over satanic manipulation. We must intercept satanic plan in the place of prayer.
The Power Of Intercession
(1) It Rescues People From Danger
Abraham’s prayer concerning Sodom was remembered and Lot, his nephew was rescued by the angels.
And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.
Lot did not die with the evildoers because someone had prayed for him. Abraham was a good intercessors. He was not selfish as he prayed for the cities before Sodom and Gommorah were destroyed.
So, when we pray for our loved ones. God protects them and exempt then from all evil. Be a good intercessor! As you pray for yourself, pray for your loved ones and intercede for sinners too.
(2) People Get Delivered From Bondage
An angel was sent to take Peter out of prison because of the prayer of the brethren. Even Peter had slept, he was not even praying. But the Church was earnestly praying for him.
Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
The result of their prayer was that Peter was set free divinely. Even he said he thought he was in a vision (Acts 12:9).
Therefore, intercessory prayer delivers people from the paws of death. It delivers from sudden death. It librates lives. It sets sinners free and bring people to the knowledge of God.
Intercessory prayer provokes the hand of God in order to release His favor upon us. When Esther wanted to approach King Xerxes, she asked her people to fast and pray for her (Esther 4:16).
They did and Esther experienced favor when he approached the king because the king gave her audience.
And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that SHE OBTAINED FAVOUR IN HIS SIIGHT: and the king held out to
Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
Frankly, this will be our testimony when we intercede for others. Before you child goes for that job interview, pray for him/her. God’s favor will make him get the job.
(4) Deliverance From The Force Of Delay
Genesis 25:19-21And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian. And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:
Isaac prayed to God on behalf of his wife and God opened her womb. Isaac got married at the age of forty but they could not bear a child until he interceded for her.
Pray for those who are experiencing delay. Your prayer can deliver them totally from every form of delay.

(5) It Turns Away God’s Wrath
Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
When God’s wrath was kindled against the Israelites, it was Moses who interceded for them. God heard him and his wrath was turned away.
We are to pray as believers over our nation so that God may turn away His wrath. Our prayer can make God to have mercy on us. Pray without ceasing!
